Saint Jerome is the Patron Saint of archeologists, archivists, Bible scholars, librarians,  libraries, school children, students and translators 

He is recognised as a Saint and Doctor of the Church by the Roman Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Church, the Lutheran Church, and the Anglican Communion.

He translated the Hebrew Bible from the original Hebrew into Latin. He completed this work by 405.
